What's New
Nov 25, 2011: Had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We saw the entire Mahoney side of the family and ate ourselves silly. All of the grandkids had a great time decorating Nanna and Pappy's Christmas tree to 'help' them out. There was plenty of action and talking. It was good to see the whole crew.
June 13, 2011: Lacrosse is in full swing. Two tournaments down, two to go. Con and Cam participated in the Jamboree and Cam only in the Colorado Cup. Both guys did well and had a lot of fun with their teams. I have some pictures of Cam's outing with the Colorado Select team at the Colorado Cup here. Everyone is busy with sports, scouts and a new job for Connor with South Suburban Parks and Rec. He is very excited to start and I'm excited for him to learn about the working world. Con is also attending strength and conditioning sessions three days a week at Mountain Vista with the football team and some LAX teammates. He is certain he will be able to challenge uncle Kevin for the most buff Mahoney in Denver by the end of the summer. Cam is feeling pretty sporty in his new Colorado Select gear, looking studly. Linds will be playing some LAX with her team in the coming weeks. She is fierce and, as always, also loves the team camaraderie.
April 11, 2011:
A visit from the Kurths, a visit from Granny and Papa and Connor's birthday - a busy couple of months since I last posted. Allan, Andrew and Alex made it out to ski for a few days this spring and we all had a good time. The conditions were variable to say the least but we all had fun skiing with each other. We were even able to make it down the Whale's Tail in a near white out. The nicest day, of course, came on the day the Kurths left. Some video of the day is here.
Granny and Papa cam out for a short visit with the family and we all had a good time as well. We had a chance to see a lacrosse game, do some shopping, and play a rousing game of poker. Beware Cam. He is a shark. He was down to almost nothing and ended up cleaning us all out in the end.
Finally, Con had a good birthday. He had one of his buddies over for a night of movies and horsing around and was able to sample a couple of birthday cakes. With some of the money he received, he was very pleased with himself over the purchase of a new longboard and helmet... smiles from ear to ear.

Lacrosse season has started with a vengence and I have the family schedules up at the left. Looking forward to some fast action from the Mahoneys.
February 10, 2011:
The ski trip celebrating Bo's birthday was fun. All of the old farts were able to make it out to both Vail and Beaver Creek. Kevin was sick for the first day and managed to give his sickness to me by coughing all over me during a lunch. Thankfully, I'm on the mend now. The entire 3 days were freezing cold. We topped out at about -1 for the first 2 days with the highlight being told at the top of the first lift on the first day in Beaver creek, "welcome to to top, we are looking at a balmy -14 degrees." The cold only meant we had to stop a few extra times to warm up. We were graced with some fresh snow that made for some fun glade skiing. And yes, I did make it down the Birds of Prey (video here).
January 28, 2011:
Headed back up to Breckenridge and then Beaver Creek to ski and celebrate Bo's birthday. I plan to rock the Birds of Prey. All of my little brothers seem to have problems keeping up with me, especially as they get older... ha.
Breck is hosting the annual International Snow Sculpture Championships this weekend and we should get a chance to see some of the creations (here are some pictures from two years ago). I'm looking forward to practicing some more with the helmet cam to capture all of the little shavers skiing. I think the next skill I need to work on is my video editing. I'm still a little sketchy on putting good clips together for a compelling mini-movie, but I'm working on it.
January 1, 2011: Happy New Year... I tried out the new helmetcam to capture some ski video this year. Here is a test of the results.
December 25, 2020: Some pictures from Christmas Morning... More to come.
December 17, 2010: Merry Christmas
August 1, 2010: Connor is having fun at the Boy Scount Jamboree. We are excited to get him back home.
June 6, 2010:
There is one advantage of getting knocked out of a lacrosse tournament early – spending a Sunday with my boys looking to launch their new, summer business: Duct Tape Wallets (see the link to the left). It almost washes the bitter taste of defeat from memory. We spent the day yesterday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park playing games from 7AM to 8PM – wow, I didn’t take enough beer. The boys won a couple and ultimately got knocked out with losses towards the end of the day. That was OK, it was a good season and the kids they played with were fun.It is nice to finally have a day to relax without the need to scramble to the next event. I have pictures from the last couple of weekends of games posted here.
February 25, 2010:
Uncle Kevin was on TV recently and I have to say, he couldn't resist his inner urge to mock the fool doc who stabbed a nurse and committed various other indiscretions (see video) for... wearing a Hawaiian shirt and cowboy boots. Nice dig. Con and Cam loved the clip because of the reference to a scrotum - couldn't stop giggling.
January 25, 2010:
Happy New Year! The ski season has officially begun and we are making for frequent trips to Breckenridge. Lindsay in still in Breck's 'Bomber's' program and progressing nicely. She is skiing intermediate and some expert slopes with the help of her instructor. She has two of her cousins in the class with her and another nice little girl named Izzie. The boys and I ski while Lindsay is in her lesson. This last weekend was fun as Cam and I got to ski with both the uncles, Bo and Paul, as well as with Lindsay's class. I could get used to this. When 'helping' with the ski class, we extras got to cut into the lift lines with the instructor. Snow fell this weekend, which they sorely needed and it looks like there is some more snow in the forecast for this week. Keep the fingers crossed. All is good.
